PLW Modelworks was excited to exhibit at this year’s ESRI 3D Mapping Forum and 2014 User’s Conference. These two conferences were held back-to-back in San Diego from July 12 – 17.
ESRI is a world-wide leader in providing tools that enable people to positively impact the future through a deeper, geographic understanding of the changing world around them. There were companies and approximately 15,000 attendees from around the globe attending the conference to learn more about how ESRI and their partners can provide solutions to their geospatial needs. PLW is proud to be an ESRI partner and provide 3D model content for ESRI users worldwide.
This year’s conference was an especially exciting year for PLW at the ESRI Forum and 2014 User’s Conference for several reasons. First of all, the Forum was specifically targeted to 3D mapping and PLW 3D urban models provide photo-accurate, geo-located content for users seeking high-quality 3D urban scenes as part of their geospatial solution. There were many interesting talks and we enjoyed speaking with attendees as they stopped by our exhibit to discuss how PLW models could provide solutions for them. Second, one of the main themes of the
ESRI 2014 User’s Conference, held in the San Diego Convention Center, was 3D. PLW provided ESRI with a copy of our San Diego model which they highlighted in their 3D area of the exhibit hall using their ArcGIS tool. It was exciting to see our model of the San Diego Convention Center being shown while we were in the Convention Center. We had many people stop by our booth to discuss how our models could be used in providing a 3D solution that could meet their needs.
We would like to thank everyone who stopped by to visit us at the Forum and User’s Conference. It gives us a great opportunity to hear how our models can and are being used to provide geospatial solutions. It also gives us insight as to what additional services and features would be most beneficial to our end-user community.
If you have any questions regarding PLW models and how they can be used to help you solve your 3D geospatial needs please contact us today!
We would like to end by providing a couple of photos of our booth space at the ESRI User’s Conference. We had 10′ x 20′ booth where we were showing animations of some of our models on one end while showing our San Diego model in ESRI’s ArcGIS software on the other. We look forward to seeing you all next year!
