PLW Modelworks would like to wish everyone Happy Holidays! We hope you have a fruitful, happy and prosperous 2019!
As we get ready for Christmas and New Year’s Day, PLW would like to take a moment to reflect on 2018.
We continue to provide our client’s with high-fidelity, geospecific 3D city models that are geolocated and photo-accurate. We provide 3D city models from 1 sq. km. to hundreds of sq. km. that are optimized for each specific client. Because we utilize our own proprietary software to create our 3D city models from imagery, we have the ability to customize our models to meet specific client needs.
During 2018 we have significantly expanded our real estate business segment by providing our industry leading 3D city models to Cushman & Wakefield for a number of cities and we will continue to help them visualize their North American markets into 2019. To provide them the best possible 3D city model solution for their needs, PLW added solid floors into our buildings for them. In addition, PLW provides specific feature attribution of our 3D city models that is utilized by Cushman & Wakefield’s software to provide business intelligence for them. Finally, PLW provides property boundary alignment so that PLW models can be effectively merged with Cushman & Wakefield’s extensive metadata about each building. We appreciate the opportunity to work with such a talented and dedicated team of commercial real estate professionals.
During the past year PLW has also continued to expand our work with Lockheed Martin providing our 3D city models for use in the JSF F-35 training program. The 3D city models we provide are of locations all over the globe in support of this initiative. To satisfy the specific needs of Lockheed Martin, PLW has continued to fine tune building material classification and night scene generation that utilize actual window and door locations for exceptional realism. PLW also worked with Lockheed Martin to better identify and provide varying LODs for optimization.
PLW wanted to highlight the two clients above because of the client specific technological advances we made to specifically provide them with a customized 3D city model solution. Most clients in our major market segments (municipal, DOD, real estate, entertainment, broadcast, DOD, AEC, etc.) utilize PLW’s 3D city models out of the box! However, should a client need a more customized solution, we are ready, willing, and able to provide it!
General technological changes made during 2018 include continuing to optimize our models for use by all platforms. PLW’s 3D city models are low poly count models by nature but we continue to find ways to decrease poly count, make the models more water-tight, and improve the overall quality. PLW has also continued to optimize the integration of street level imagery into our 3D modeling process to provide even higher detailed models from street level.
Make 2019 the year your firm stuns your clients and all stakeholders with a PLW 3D city model solution!
